Privacy Policy
Short version: we report on buildings and businesses, not on people — and this site collects as little about you as we can manage.
Last updated: October 17, 2026
What we publish
PermitsByCounty publishes business and project activity from official public records: permit counts, project descriptions, reported values, and the names of businesses (such as contracting companies) where the source jurisdiction itself publishes them. We do not publish homeowner names or other consumer personal data, and we do not build or sell marketing lists of homeowners.
What this site collects from visitors
- No email collection yet. The weekly digest signup opens when the first county coverage goes live. Until then, the signup form on this site does not save or send any email address — it tells you exactly that when you use it.
- No tracking cookies. This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Standard hosting logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information (such as IP addresses and browser type) to deliver pages and keep the service secure.
When the digest opens
If you subscribe to the free weekly county digest, we will use your email address only to send that digest. We will not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing. Every digest email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends.
Third parties
We use established providers for hosting and, when it opens, email delivery. Each receives only the data it needs to perform its function. We do not sell personal information to anyone, in any phase of this business.
Your choices
When the digest opens, you may unsubscribe at any time from any email. Questions about this policy — including a request concerning public-record information we publish — can be sent through our contact page. Our Corrections Policy covers errors in published figures.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new update date before the change takes effect for any newly collected information.
